Biryuu Katana Build - Active Crit Melee (1.0.25)

Biryuu is the katana’s final evolution and the strongest crit setup on the board on 1.0.2x — the build every other melee route is measured against.

Why it works

Biryuu’s attacks count as both normal attacks and final hits. That quirk doubles the value of on-hit effects: Firmness and Precision each stack twice per swing, so the build converts swing count into a compounding damage curve instead of a flat stat line.

Stat targets

• Crit rate: ~60%
• Crit damage: ~100%

The 60/100 split is where the community converged: crits land consistently enough to feel reliable, without starving every other stat to get there.

Leveling order

1. Crit rate toward ~60% first — consistent crits beat burst while you’re learning the rhythm.
2. Crit damage to ~100% — once the rate floor is in place.
3. Firmness / Precision as the on-hit artifact backbone, since each swing doubles them.

How to play

Keep swings landing. Because Biryuu double-procs on-hit effects, uptime is the damage multiplier — stay in attack rhythm rather than fishing for big single hits. Position to keep the Hunter Miracle buff up between engage windows.
