Sephiria Characters - All 27 Playable Costumes (1.0.30)

Every playable Sephiria character on 1.0.30: all 27 costumes with stat trade-offs, unlock conditions and which build each one pairs with.

8/28/2026 1.0.30 Last updated: 8/28/2026 7 min read

In Sephiria you play a rabbit climbing a demon tower, but “the rabbit” is 27 different costumes. The in-game Costumes tab is the character select: every entry trades one stat for another and most are gated behind an unlock. This page is the full 1.0.30 roster — the trade-off and unlock for each costume, plus which of our builds each one fits.

A note on “characters”: some Sephiria wiki sites list “characters” — those are the NPCs (Elru and the rest). The playable roster lives in the Costumes tab, which most guides never document. This page covers the playable roster only. Gameplay data comes from Kean’s Sephiria Compendium, Costumes tab.

The 27 playable costumes

Unlock ”—” means the costume is in the starting roster with no unlock condition. Every other entry needs the listed unlock done in a single run.

Which costume fits which build

The costume is a build slot, not a skin. Four pairings are documented in our build guides; the rest are read straight off the stat trade-offs above.

Documented in our build guides:

  • Red FoxBiryuu Katana crit. +6 inventory slots is the reason the crit build runs Red Fox; the −50% healing is manageable when the whole build is dodging instead of tanking.
  • GhostIlonica caster. Grimoires at 0 MP is the whole elemental-spread engine; you trade 40% weapon damage you weren’t using anyway.
  • White RabbitMinigun. The documented Hard 35 preset plays White Rabbit — +12% Special ATK feeds the machine-gun’s special spam.
  • Scholar LizardMinigun tank variant. 20 Max HP is brutal, but Mana Reflow removes MP limits entirely — a glass-cannon trade that only works if you never get hit.

Suggested by the stat trade-offs (not yet documented in a build guide):

  • Armored BunnySword & Shield. The family converts defense into offense via a DEF-scaling Shield Bash, so +10 DEF feeds damage as well as survivability.
  • Otter → crit routes like Biryuu Katana as a Red Fox alternative. +9% crit with only −8% move speed, and no healing curse.
  • Skeleton → any burst route. +20% all damage with a Curse Tablet start and no listed trade-off — worth the 333-damage unlock quest.
  • Deer → never take it on a crit build (−90% Critical Chance). It exists for Wishing Fountain setups; its +3 fountain capacity is its whole identity.
  • Wing-Eared / Wizard Bunny / Frog / Red-Clothed Cat → the four caster opens. Each starts a run with a spell (Blessing / Ice Bolt / Lightning Bolt / Fire Bolt) at 0.8× physical damage — free casting identity before you find a grimoire.
  • Adventurer Bunny → dash-focused melee (dagger dash-cancel routes). +1 dash point and +10% recovery, at the cost of grimoire haste you don’t need on a dash build.

Safest starters

Pink Bunny and Forest Cat have no downside at all. Armored Bunny is the forgiving tank, Adventurer Bunny the balanced dash option. Save Red Fox, Scholar Lizard and Skeleton for later — their trade-offs (healing, 20 HP, self-damage) punish a player still learning the tower.

How this was verified

  • Roster data: Kean’s Sephiria Compendium, Costumes tab — a community-maintained live document, read 2026-08-28. Values drift with patches; re-check before you invest a run in an unlock.
  • Portraits: official character FaceChips from the Team Horay press kit. 7 of 9 map to roster entries (5 exact asset-name matches, plus RedHoly → Red-Hooded Rabbit and Mage → Wizard Bunny confirmed visually). The remaining 2 (Holy, Rabbit13) are shown with what’s visibly in the image only — we don’t guess an identity we can’t confirm.
  • Costume visuals: only the nine official FaceChip portraits above show what costumes actually look like — the press kit has no full-body art for the rest of the roster. The Steam Community guide “Basic Guide to Sephiria” by FireBrother photographs every in-game costume card (name, flavor text, stat lines, a small icon), which is useful for confirming menu entries but shows almost nothing of the costume’s appearance — so we link it instead of embedding 27 near-identical dark panels. Its captures are from 0.7.x anyway; stat evidence stays with the compendium table above.
  • Patch check 2026-08-28 — reviewed against 1.0.30: nothing in 1.0.26–1.0.30 changed the costume roster or its unlocks. The build pairings above were verified against their dedicated guide pages, which carry their own patch checks.
