Sephiria Builds Methodology - How We Grade Evidence and Track Patches

How we grade evidence: video-verified runs, compendium-verified mechanics, community recipes — plus patch-stamp discipline that keeps pages honest after updates.

Most Sephiria wikis you’ll find through search were written by someone — or something — that never played the game. Recipes get invented, numbers get copied between patches until they mean nothing, and “guides” contradict the game they describe. This page is our answer: it documents exactly how we grade what we publish, so you can decide how much to trust each page.

The three evidence tiers

Every build and guide page carries an evidence line in its spec block. There are exactly three tiers:

Tier 1 — Video-verified

A gameplay video exists showing the recipe in action, and we’ve watched it against the patch it was recorded on. The clearest example on this site is the Minigun build: the White Rabbit Hard 35 run is on tape — boss clear times, the ~1,400–1,800 sustained dummy DPS band, the Barrage proc behavior. When a number on that page says “video confirms”, it means exactly that.

Tier 2 — Compendium-verified mechanics

The mechanics quoted on a page (what an evolution does, what it costs, how it scales) are cross-checked against the community-maintained weapon-evolution compendium dataset. This is why the Creaking Spine page can state the Reassemble formula — 25 MP, 8-second window, +15 + 50% of DEF per consecutive swing — as fact rather than folklore. Mechanics at this tier are data, not vibes.

Tier 3 — Community-documented recipes

The recipe itself (stat targets, artifact picks, claimed ceilings) is what the community actually runs and upvotes — and we label it as exactly that. The Frozen Smelt page is the honest example: “Hard 60 claimed on 1.0.24; DPS figures community-reported rather than video-verified — treat the ceiling as strong-but-not-gospel.” A 58-like community recipe is a strong signal, and it’s presented as a signal, not as scripture.

A single page can mix tiers — mechanics at Tier 2, recipe at Tier 3 — and says so in plain text. That mix is the norm, not an exception.

The patch-stamp discipline

Sephiria patches often (1.0.25 → 1.0.30 across summer 2026), and weapon balance has swung enough to invalidate guides overnight. Two real cases from this site’s own pages:

  • 1.0.23 rebalanced Brass Mirror Fragment (the Minigun build’s mana engine) — pages now carry the caution note.
  • 1.0.26 changed the base Dagger’s dash-cancel behavior — the Frozen Smelt page tells you exactly what changed and what it didn’t touch.

Because of that history, every page carries two stamps: a gameVersion field (the patch the content was verified against) and a dated patch-check quote at the top of the analysis (“Patch check 2026-09-11 — game still on 1.0.30…”). We re-check pages on a weekly cadence against the live patch, and when a patch lands, affected pages get updated or flagged before anything else happens.

What we refuse to do

  • No invented recipes. If a build’s config isn’t documented somewhere real, it doesn’t appear here as a “build”.
  • No unverified numbers presented as fact. Community-reported DPS is always labeled community-reported.
  • No videos without footage. Pages without a verified run don’t get a video section to look more authoritative — depth comes from mechanics math and preset codes instead.
  • No cross-patch copying. Numbers carry the patch they were true on, or they don’t carry at all.

How to use this site

Trust the mechanics sections hardest (Tier 2 — data). Treat recipes as strong community consensus (usually Tier 3) and check the evidence line before you commit a run. If a patch just dropped, check the patch-check stamp’s date first — if it predates the patch, wait for the re-check.

Found something we got wrong? That’s the point of grading evidence publicly — corrections with a source beat silent confidence every time.
